I want to become a translator

Turn your language skills into a better reading experience: learn about translator applications, language authorization, and what to prepare before participating.

Who is a good fit

If you can understand the original language and express dialogue and narration naturally and accurately in the target language, you are welcome to apply as a MuScans translator. Translation is more than replacing words: it also requires attention to character voice, context, consistent terminology, and the reading order of a comic.

Introduce yourself in your application

After signing in, open “Applications & Requests” in your account, choose “Become a Translator,” describe your languages and translation experience, and submit. Describe your abilities and the scope of your availability honestly so the administrator can assess how to work together.

  • The original languages you can read and the target languages you can write fluently.
  • Relevant translation, proofreading, or comic lettering experience; if you have no formal experience, you can describe your practice.
  • Work samples you are allowed to share, along with the genres that interest you and when you can participate.

Approval still requires authorization for each comic language

After your translator application is approved, you can sign in to the management backend with the same account, but translator status does not grant editing access to every comic. Request translation permission for the appropriate language on the target comic's details page, or contact an administrator for assignment.

Each authorization applies only to one specified comic and target language; other titles or languages require separate requests. In an authorized workspace, revise the translation and lettering using the tools currently available, and carefully proofread the preview. Translator status does not guarantee access to every automated processing feature.

View feedback in your records

You can view request status and administrator feedback in “My Applications.” Make sure your registered email can receive messages and check your spam folder. Respect the rights to the works and other people's privacy when submitting materials; an application does not constitute a promise of employment, compensation, or a processing deadline.
